The Mississauga Arts Council mission is "to foster and develop, support and champion a vibrant, dynamic arts community in the city of Mississauga through services and grants, to enrich the lives of its citizens." It is the most comprehensive resource for arts and entertainment information in the city of Mississauga. Visual Arts Mississauga is a non-profit charitable organization founded in 1977. This art centre is open to everyone for classes, workshops, group meetings and children’s art camps. Members’ exhibitions and fine art sales are held throughout the year. The Mississauga Art Society began in 1955 and is a the oldest art society in the Mississauga area. The society holds two art shows each year. There is a wide diversity of medium displayed by the members at these art shows, such as: oil, acrylic, watercolour, pastels, encaustic and pen and ink. There are over 30 members in this art group. |
