Ron SypherAcrylic Artist
Ron Sypher paints a wide range of subject matter, with emphasis on landscapes, cityscapes and seascapes. His paintings bring out the vivid, vibrant colours of acrylics while capturing the serenity of each scene. He enjoys the versatility of acrylics, as it allows full freedom in creating the realistic style of his paintings. The majority of his work is inspired from photos, and every painting is an original. Ron's commissioned paintings are an incredible display of this talent. Painting since his teens, Ron started out in oils but later switched to acrylics. Until he retired from banking in 1994 painting was a part-time hobby. Retirement has allowed him to concentrate on his art and he has attended several artist workshops. His work has been in various shows including the juried shows at the Art Gallery of Mississauga, the Art Gallery of Peel and the Novotel Mississauga, and was featured artist at a local art gallery. He has been teaching acrylic art at Springbank Arts Centre since 1996 and retired in June, 2005. He plans to conduct artist workshops. Ron is Past President of the Mississauga Art Society; and a member of the Mississauga Arts Council, Visual Arts Mississauga, Central Ontario Art Association and the Art Gallery of Mississauga. |
